Fair Trade Outreach & Sales

  • generate thousands of dollars in much needed income so that artisan and farmer families can support themselves and allow their children to continue their education
  • support the growth of fair trade cooperatives as an alternative economic model
  • promote community-to-cooperative relationships between NE Ohio & Latin America
  • educate NE Ohioans on policy questions that impact local economies in Ohio, Central America, Mexico, and Colombia

IRTF envisions a world where people work for themselves and do not have to be dependent on the dominant economic model that perpetuates inequality and exploitation of people and the environment. IRTF promotes economic models where self-determination, gender equality, transparency, and democratic organization are the norm.
