But we CAN gather –hundreds of us from across the hemisphere—to inform and motivate each other around our collective work:

 -to end US-led and backed state violence

 -to dismantle Border Imperialism

 -to stand with communities in Latin America organizing against the militarization of their lands and lives

 -to fight against the neoliberal model that values profit over people and the environment

Rooted in Resistance:  Virtual Panels and Vigil
November 21 & 22, 2020
Join us on Saturday, November 21st and Sunday, November 22nd for the third event of our SOA Watch 30th Anniversary Rooted in Resistance Series! On Saturday, November 21st, we will facilitate three virtual panels about the historic and current impacts of US Empire throughout the Americas and the powerful movements organizing to defend autonomy and dignity of our communities. On Sunday, November 22nd we will be hosting our annual vigil, including presentes and litany and featuring the SOA Watch Musicians Collective. 
The weekend's virtual events and spaces are free, bilingual (Spanish and English, interpretation will be provided) and all are welcome! You will receive an email confirmation with all the links for Saturday's panels and Sunday's litany and presentes immediately after registering below.

Join members of the SOA Watch Musicians Collective (Francisco Herrera, Colleen Kattau, Emma’s Revolution, and Lumi and Lu Aya from the Peace Poets) for an online community gathering as we remember and uplift our martyrs and recommit ourselves to the continued struggle to dismantle US imperialism and defend our communities and territory around the globe! We invite you to bring something symbolic importance to you for the presentes -- photo, flower, names, candle, etc. -- to accompany us during the gathering.  
Whether you are new to the SOA Watch community or have been with us over the last 30 years, our critical organizing to end all forms of US-supported violence and injustice is stronger because of you. We recognize that recently months have been incredibly challenging for most and that many people are facing emotional, physical, and financial hardships. Inspired by the martyrdom of Jean Donovan and Sister Dorothy Kazel in El Salvador in 1980, we uphold the legacy of these remarkable women and, in their spirit of solidarity, uplift the struggles of all oppressed peoples. Over the course of the next year, the Memory & Resistance Coalition will highlight, celebrate, and commemorate our collective legacies of resistance through an art exhibition, webinars, expert panels, spoken word and musical performances, public discussions, book discussions, and more.
