Six years after the assassination of Berta Cáceres, the U.S. continues supporting hydroelectric projects similar to the one she was murdered for opposing. Additionally, those who ordered and paid for Berta's murder have yet to be brought to justice. Bertha Zúniga Cáceres, daughter of Berta Caceres and General Coordinator of COPINH, will discuss the current status of efforts for justice for Berta as well as the new political context in Honduras following the inauguration of Xiomara Castro as President and social movement demands for U.S policy, including the continued relevance of the Berta Caceres Human Rights in Honduras Act in the U.S. Congress.
