Power, Projection, and Arrogance: Mapping the Global Presence of U.S. Military Bases Through Facts and Figures

World BEYOND War is a global nonviolent movement founded in 2014 that advocates for the total abolition of the institution of war and its replacement with a just and sustainable system of peace. The organization focuses on three main pillars: demilitarizing security by closing foreign military bases and divesting from weapons, managing conflict through nonviolent international law, and creating a culture of peace through extensive educational programs and online courses. Our work is driven by a decentralized network of local chapters that engage in educational, media, and nonviolent activism. The No Bases Campaign is a cornerstone of World BEYOND War’s strategy to dismantle the global "war machine" by targeting the physical infrastructure that enables it. Successes that World BEYOND War has supported have included the 2024 decision not to impose a massive military training ground on Montenegro and the 2025 public vote in Ecuador not to allow foreign bases
