From June 23 to 29, The Share Foundation organized a delegation to El Salvador in collaboration with the Network of Deported Migrants. In Chicago, members of Centro Romero, the Ceiba Collective, and the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America (CRLN) participated on the delegation. Join us for an afternoon of reflection and conversation, where delegates will share their experiences and discuss the current social and political realities in El Salvador.
During their visit, delegates:
- Heard testimonies from deported immigrants about the shock and trauma of being kidnapped and deported after living in the U.S. for many years.
- Met with relatives of innocent women and youth who have disappeared under the Estado de Excepción.
- Visited the Seeds of Hope vegetable gardens center, a program focused on cancer prevention.
