Emergency Delegation To Guatemala

Thursday, July 12, 2018 to Tuesday, July 17, 2018

The Guatemala Human Rights Campaign had been at the forefront of international support for the Guatemalan struggle for human rights since 1983.

Recently, two indigenous Guatemalan human rights organizations, CCDA and CODECA have been under attack. There has been no investigation into the assassination of peasant leaders nor resolution to the rural land conflicts they fight for. Additionally, these communities have been damaged and are struggling to recover from Fuego volcano eruption on the South Coast.

Join the GHRC on a 6-day emergency delegation in Guatemala from July 12th to 17th to support the CCDA and CODECA and better understand the challenges indigenous communities face due to land struggles and the recent eruption. The delegation will also meet with national and international human rights organizations, members of Congress and embassies.

The cost of the trip is yet to be determined.

Please email jackie@ghrc-usa.org to express interest in the delegation as soon as possible.
