This is the next in UUJO’s series, Connecting the Dots: Planet, People, Power. Learn how to support the work being done to bring equity and health to marginalized communities suffering from the devastating effects of lead poisoning. University Circle is home to cutting edge medical facilities. However, in the area surrounding University Circle an estimated 30 to 50 percent of children under the age of 6 suffer from lead poisoning. Thousands of families live in unsafe housing and send their children to schools with unsafe water. If left untreated, high levels of lead in children can cause brain damage, developmental delays, and life-long disabilities.
